New office toy!

Author: rhodzy  //  Category: gadgets

Been out at dinner and decided to buy a nice little toy for the office! (Sorry about the photo! Crap quality!) Anyways it was a pack of 2 at quite a good price to be honest! From toymaster! The good thing with these ones is they have infrared indicators on, and on the control its self it allows you to shoot down the other aircraft and when you get a successfull hit, it disables the other controller and sends it crashing down to the ground!

A great toy for when you get a spare 2 minutes at work!

After searching the internet for ways how to map network drives to my computers at home from remote locations over SSH i came across this little guide. It works perfectly!

The following instructions document how the Microsoft Loopback Adapter can be installed and configured for use with file share tunneling on Windows XP and 2003:
Installing the Loopback Adapter:

1. Open Start, Control Panel, Add Hardware.

2. Click Next on the introduction dialog box.

3. Select ‘Yes, I have already connected the hardware’ and click Next.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the list of hardware, select ‘Add a new hardware device’, then click Next.

5. Select ‘Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)’, then click Next.

6. Select ‘NetworkNetwork reviewsNetwork reviews adapters’, then click Next.

7. Select ‘Microsoft’ as the manufacturer, select ‘Microsoft Loopback Adapter’ as the adapter, then click Next.

8. Click Next to confim the installation.

9. Click Finish to complete the installation.

2. Configure the newly created adapter:

1. Open Start, Control Panel, Network Connections.

2. Select the newly created connection (should be named ‘Local Area Connection N’, where N is its order number).

3. Right click on the selected connection and choose Properties from the menu.

4. Confirm that ‘Microsoft Loopback Adapter’ (or ‘Microsoft Loopback Adapter #N’) is displayed in the ‘Connect Using:’ field. If it isn’t, return to step 2 and retry properties for another adapter.

5. Uncheck (disable) everything except ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’.

6. Select ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’, then click Properties to open ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties’.

7. Select ‘Use the following IP address:’ and fill in the ‘IP address:’ and ‘Subnet mask:’ fields (e.g. 10.10.10.10, 255.255.255.0).

8. Click Advanced to open ‘Advanced TCP/IP Settings’.

9. SwitchSwitch reviewsSwitch reviews to WINS and select ‘Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP’.

10. Click OK to close ‘Advanced TCP/IP Settings’.

11. Click OK to close the ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties’.

12. Optionally (on XP only) uncheck (disable) ‘Notify me when this connection has limited or no conectivity’ to remove the connection warning icon from the system notification area.

13. Click OK to close the connection properties.

If you later want to uninstall the Microsoft Loopback Adapter (once it is not needed any more for the forwarding of a WindowsWindowsWindows file share), you can uninstall it using Control Panel > SystemSystem reviewsSystem reviews > HardwareHardware reviewsHardware reviews > Device Manager.

bell car insurance

By the end of the year i will be selling my 1.2 SXI corsa and im looking to buy a Mini Cooper S 1.6 Supercharged :-) its abit of a jump engine wise and alot of people said i will kill my self, but im not that stupid. Ive been looking all over the internet for insurance, trying different comparison sites, and for the mini most insurance companies wont even touch me. Probably because ive had a crash and have 3 penalty points on my license. I found one site Bell Insuranceand they have quoted me for the year, £1100 for the mini. I think this is a great quote to say the bigger companies like AA want £3000 and LV= who i work for will not even insure me. The mini’s insurance group is 15 – 18 because its classed as a sports car, and when i do buy it, the road tax will be £300 a year! Yikes alot more than the £120 for my corsa!

Currently i have the application to email 2 of my email accounts (my work one, and my gmail one) I have it to upload images and videos when motion is detected to my website, ftp server and two other computers, bit geeky, but i like it :-) It can be abit annoying, because when i turn the bedroom light on it triggers the alarm, i dont know if there is some settings i have missed, because it was just a quick little install last night at 8:30pm.

I will have alook at the configurations tonight when i get home :-O
