Release of PwnageTool OSX + Windows

Why choose PwnageTool? Unlike other previous jailbreak methods that exploit the iPhone, PwnageTool modifies the iPhone to accept unsigned .ipsw files allowing for a safer Jailbreak using the tried and true iTunes restore. The OSX Version of PwnageTool Not only will pwn your phone but also allows for the creation of custom .ipsw files to load via iTunes.

OSX Version Features:
iPwner – Pwns your iPhone, the safer jailbreak
IPSW Builder – Lets you create custom firmware to load to you pwnd phone including unlocking, neutering, custom pictures, activation, and bootloader upgrade/downgrade.
Bootneuter: A neutered bootloader survives iTunes updates, even updates to 1.2.0 (aka 2.0). Unlike unlocking which requires a new patch for each firmware version, you only need to neuter once.

Windows Version Features:
Coming Soon

BBC iPlayer available on iPhone

Courtesy of BBC INTERNET BLOG

Today was a big day for BBC iPlayer: it’s the day that it first became available on a portable device. BBCiPlayer is now available on iPhone and iPod touch.

To play BBC programmes on your iPhone or iPod touch, you’ll need to be online via a wi-fi broadband connection (the iPhone’s EDGE connectivity is too slow for streaming video). BBCiPlayer on iPhone is a beta version right now, so if you find some programmes aren’t available on iPhone or you get the occasional oddity… yep, we’re working on it.

Ever since we announced that we were working on BBC iPlayer for iPhone, there’s been a lot of speculation in the blogosphere as to how it would work. Would we use Apple’s new iPhone SDK? Would we use the rumoured Flash for iPhone? What video format and bitrate would we choose? And which devices will we support next…?

So, for those interested in a behind-the-scenes look, here’s the low-down…

First up, we can divide portable and gaming devices into those that include a web browser (iPhone, Nintendo Wii, Nokia N95, etc) and those that don’t (Apple TV, Xbox, most mobile phones, most home media servers, etc).

iPod 30GB Bye Bye!

31S4450T9XL._SS500_ For some time now I have been using my Apple iPod (30GB) model but the time has now come where I have to let it go, because I have started using the iPhone for my music needs as well // where as I only have 8GB of storage on my iPhone, well probably 7GB after all my app’s etc are installed it is more than enough for what I need, the 30GB was just a novelty and I found myself cramming aload of crap music, on to it, some that I have never listened to and some that I know I will never listen to so why bother? I find that even with 7GB I can still get lots and lots of music on, and find myself only putting music on that I will ever listen to.

Plans for the 30GB iPod // I would never give this away or even sell it, because you never know one day it may come in handy again! but until then it can live away in a drawer somewhere until I can think what to do with it //

 iphonehand The only thing I haven’t tried with the iPhone is the griffin itrip as I seem to have misplaced it! hopefully I will come across it and be able to give it a whirl, I cant see any reason why it wouldn’t work with the iPhone when it works spot on with the iPod.

iPhone Camera

I have had the iPhone for quite some time now and have never really used the camera as much as I did when I had my N95. I have finally decided to start using it and am fairly suprised at the quality of the photos. I have tried and tested it but only sending the pictures via email which automatically get resized. When i came to re-installing my iPhone i came across another way of getting the pictures off (through windows explorer, so simple but yet I have only just found out) and have seen my pictures in there full format. I have attached a little picture of one i took the other day, which i found to be pretty good quality!

Inserting google ads into a post

I found this great little guide to help you insert you google ads into you wordpress posts by editing the main index template file in the theme editor, just follow these little instructions.

  1. Open the WordPress admin control panel and navigate to:
    Presentation > Theme Editor
  2. Select the Main Index Template from the list of templates on the right.
  3. In the Main Index Template, find the line that starts with:
    <?php if (have_posts())
  4. Add the following line above it:
    <?php $count = 1; ?>
  5. Next, find the line that starts with:
    <?php the_content
  6. After the closing tag ?> for that section (it may wrap to multiple lines), add the following code:

    <?php if ($count == 1) : ?>
    – Insert your Google AdSense code here –
    <?php endif; $count++; ?>

  7. Click Update File.

This places the ad within the first post.  If instead you want the ad to appear between the first and second post, add the code from step 6 after the closing </div> tag for the "entry" div that contains the line <?php the_content.
