freaky eaters – addicted to yorkshire puddings…
ok another freaky eaters that is similar to myself also, last week we met Katy Walker who was addicted to diet coke, and this week the guy is addicted to yorkshire puddings! christ i really sould be on that program, and should really consider my diet!
more diet stuff
lately I have been noticing my diet has been getting worse, and from time to time I hate what I eat….so why do I do it? Is it because I am drawn to the simplicity of just ordering something over the phone and having it delivered? more simple just going through a drivethrough? no pots to wash or load in the dishwasher? Maybe I am just lazy, but after this week my diet is taking a whole new part in my life, im going to start eating more healthier, only eat when I am hungry and at set times, try new things, don’t turn my nose up at things that I dont think I like but have never tried. I am also going to be keeping an online diary of what I have had to eat everyday for two months, this way I can keep track and look back and tell if I have noticed a difference, if I lapse and have a takeaway it will be logged, along with any drinks, whether it be water etc, It is all going to be written down for the world to see.
Tiredness hitting home hard.
Lately I have been working some pretty silly hours and when it comes to being at home all I want to do is sleep! I know you can’t beat a good sleep, but it really takes it out of you, don’t get me wrong I do have a choice to work these hours, I am not being forced in anyway shape or form. In a way working the hours I have currently being working really does work better for me, this is a short example of how my life has been over the last few months:
- Wake up at 4:15am
- Snooze until 4:30am
- Get up & ready for work
- Set off to work at around 4:40am
- Drive the 35 minutes to work (usually takes well over an hour at normal times)
- Get to work and get a coffee
- Work through lunch, just snack through the day while working
- 3:00pm set off walking to my car
- Drive the 1hr 10 minutes home
- arrive home at 4:10pm
- Tidy up flutters and prepare tea for when my wife gets home
- Get a shower, and prepare work clothes for next morning
- Sit down and watch TV until 9pm
- Go to bed at 9pm and watch TV while generally drifting off while watching
Then I follow that routine everyday of the week, so come the weekend I am totally shattered. Surely this isn’t a good way to live?
Even when I am not at work, I always have my BlackBerry by my side and everytime I hear that “Bing Bing Bing” I always look and check who the email is from, what it is about & reply if its a straight forward answer, I just cant seem to switch off from work.
Recent time off from work
Just had four great days off from work, and now feeling totally refreshed, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday really has made a big difference to the way I am feeling, turned off the work mobile, didn’t check work emails, didn’t even think about anything work…apart from that I have to go to the Leeds office on April 1st for an office move. Sometimes it’s just really nice to put that BIG FAT sign on your door….the one being “Do Not Disturb”
It really is great to switch off, I’ve have a fantastic few days off, where the house has been cleaned top to bottom, Living room decorated which means me and my wife have had the whole weekend to do what “We” want to do. I’ve spent time doing:
- Browsing the internet
- Updating my blog
- Pottering around the house
- Played on the PS3
- Twittering
- Hoovering (this is a big thing for me to do without being asked, but due to me not been as tired, it just came natural)
- Spending time with my wife
- Spending time with my two Miniature Schnauzer’s (recently just had their “manhood” removed so cannot walk them due to stitches.
Those are just a few things I have got done this weekend, I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends I have had in along time, even though its just been a lazy one!
Funnily enough, I never seem to be tired while I am at work, and it doesn’t effect my performance throughout the day, buy I do start to feel tired bang on 3PM.
Working these hours allows me to get much more done throughout the week then I would usually working the standard 9am – 5pm.
During work hours I have been working my nuts off to try and get everything done in time, catch up on things that have slipped and keep on top of the work load, due to me covering various sites across the North (on my own) it has been a hard year for me.
I have a new colleague starting the 6th April when I will return to working normal Business Hours, if you asked me if I am looking forward to working the usual 9 – 5 work day, my answer would be a solid NO. The hours I have been working, yeah they are pretty long hours, knackered at the end of everday, but the fact of the matter is, I do enjoy it? I am not sure why but I just do…work should become much easier over the next few months, and I will be able to enjoy work again, maybe my answer will change over the coming weeks? Hmm early morning lie in…that does sound good doesnt it?
Then it will be back to the good old traffic jams that we all love, and without would make our lives very…very….more less STRESSFULL!
Setting off at 7am to get to work for 8:30am something doesn’t seem right about that, you may ask why don’t I get the train into work? The reason for that is from my home town to my place of work, there is one train every hour, this train stops at 13 different stops, often breaks down, always full of loud students (too much for me first thing in a morning), dirty trains, never get seated, takes 1hr 10 minutes to get to the destination, and basically – the train ride is a different story…I think I just have my next blog post, yes slagging off public transport.
If you have gotton to the bottom of this post and are reading this message, give yourself a pat of the back from rhodzy, this was just a generally insight of my day to day routine.
If you work a similar sort of day, or have the same issues as me in this post, please feel free to comment.
Yellow Dog Linux on PS3
I am just in the process of downloading Yellow Dog Linux 6.1 DVD, I am going to attempt to install it on my PS3 as many people have done already, there is nothing new to this but will post how I get on during the installation.
The download should take around 1HR due to it being a 4GB dowload.
More to come…
restoration begins on rhodzy.co.uk
I have made the decision today I will spend a couple of hours restoring the best of a bad job when it comes to my blog, this will be no quick task nor an easy one, but I am attempting to fix the mess I have created over the past couple of years. I already made the decision late last year that I should move from my old hosting company Powweb to a more local hosting company in the UK. That caused me some issues, but eventually I got there and move all ten of my sites across successfully.
I have made a few changes already this morning, some behind the scenes changes, which have made a big change from an admin point of view.
The contact form on the “contact” has also been updated which allows me to customize the form in lots of different ways, e.g add file upload boxes, password boxes, comment boxes and lots of other options, for now I have just left it as the default contact page, until I have in my mind 100% what I want from a contact form and what information I want from my readers.
I will also be taking some of the hints and tips from Jamie Harrop a local blogging guru from my area who seems to be doing well with it, check out http://www.bloggingzest.com for more information on what he does and what he can offer you!
I know I whine and whine and go on about my theme for the site, but have decided for the time being I am actually going to stick with the one selected until I have the funds to pay for a developer to customise me one!
I will keep updating this post with a list of the changes I have made, the ones that are staying and the ones I have tried but have left the building.
Any ideas would be great?

So far so good, everything I have tried has worked and happy with the outcome…Time to log off and go play on PS3 for a while.
Recently…well the last couple of days I have given up my biggest addiction caffeine. So far so good, but really starting to feel it today, its all fine and dandy but caffeine for me is really part of my life, sad I know but ever since I can remember I dont think there has been a day where I have had no caffeine.
