Good Bye MobileMe :(
Well I have finally had to cancel my MobileMe membership, I cannot justify spending £59 on a service.
The service is fantastic but I just don’t have £59 laying around to pay for an email account, image gallery, phone tracker and contact sync.
Maybe one day I will be back, but until that day I will just stick with my Gmail account and carrying on backing up my files onto my own server.
Ah well until next time MobileMe (Maybe when you lower your price) I will be back and will be happy once again.
How much would you pay for a decent blogging client?
I’m torn between what to do, I currently use a Mac and I am fed up of using the web based editor. I thought maybe, just maybe I would right better posts if I had a proper blogging tool. I have come across quite a few for the OS X but not one that takes my fancy.
I am currently testing Blogo on a 21 day free trial. So far my first impression is, really good, good layout, all the options you could want, and so far pretty good.
The cost to buy the full product is $25 which I know isn’t a lot of money but it is if you haven’t got it and especially if it’s an app that you will soon get bored of and want to change.
I have a really bad habit of getting bored easily and I am forever changing anything and everything.
If you can recommend any decent blogging clients for Mac OS X please let me know.
Also any freebies would be good too
us Yorkshire folks are tight with our hard earned cash!
Shocking weekend! But great at the same time!
I came very close to a near death experience this weekend, infact this weekend has almost been like the Final Destination Movies.
We travelled down to the West Midlands from Yorkshire to visit the in-laws, took the two dogs as we usually do and fasten them into the car with their harnesses so they can’t go flying through the windscreen.
Got down their OK, got on with the usual things we do, Erica went off to her mates while I sat at home and watch some TV. She came back, me and the father in law changed my oil filter and switched some of my tyres around.
Pulled the car off the drive, took it around the block and when I was pulling back out I saw a huge line of traffic with the father in law crouched down in front of the cars…. “Oh shit” was the first words to pop into my head, I knew what it was straight away, the dogs had run out onto the busy main road directly oposit the house…”one has to be dead” were the next words….then all of a sudden he emerged with them both picked up and took them in the house…they had a really lucky escape, parked cars either side of the road so anything running out would be impossible to see/stop if they were too close. Luckily both dogs are fine and thought it was a game when he was shouting them back, they thought he’s shouting, im running!
My near death experience was during the oil filter change, I took a quick break and went to get my glass of coca cola from the house…as you do, now I didn’t decide to check the glass and just took a drink…suddenly I felt something hit my lip and when I took a look inside the glass this is what I saw….
Click the image to enlarge, sorry about the quality I just had to rush to get a photo as the thing was still alive.
In the glass was one of the largest wasps I had ever seen, it was still alive and moving too, now I really hate these things…could be something to do with when I was a child having three in my hood and no one knew, my hood came up and the wasps attacked the back of my neck…think I was only three at the time but still, I really hate wasps!
Apart from that nothing much more exciting happened, it just felt like I shouldn’t leave the house….although I nearly got killed in the house by the wasps!
Just made the switch…
Not really thought about this much until the other day, I was browsing through the interweb as you do and came across a usenet site, now I am subscribed to newsdemon.com and have been for well over a year without any problems….I didn’t get SSL and I only got 20 connections with unlimited data transfer. Fair does it was good enough…or was it? Yeah it was fine when I was on 8MB ADSL connection but now I am on 20MB Cable connection it just isnt…well…good enough, I feel I could do so much better.
I decided to cancel my newsdemon.com account and sign up for @giganews Diamond Unlimited with SSL. This provides me with 50 connections and a 372 day retention period.
It is quite a little bit more expensive per month, but I am already seeing the benefits.
Getting the urge to do something crazy…
Had a feeling today that I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary…
So I thought what about a bungee jump…maybe but I would want to go to the extreme and do the highest one in the world.
Bloukrans bridge is the one in South Africa the jump is 216M high

maybe one day ill get to attempt it….
