Weekend training didnt go to plan
My weekend training that me and @eckafatcat were planning to do this weekend didn’t exactly go to plan and we never made it to Pen y Ghent. For one simple reason and one simple reason only. We weren’t too sure how it was going to be for our two Miniature Schnauzers (Archie & Dylan). We spent most of Friday night looking for walks on the internet and looking for places to go that would be dog friendly. Me personally wanted to go to somewhere that had water falls as I wanted to try out my new Nikon camera and wanted to get some good shots to test it out.
We looked and looked and even looked at staying over in the Lake District in a dog friendly pub that would have allowed them to stay in the hotel with us. We decided against this and decided to travel 76 miles to Ingleton, here you can find the Ingleton Waterfall Trail which is an amazing pretty easy walk where you can see 5 waterfalls in total. You can get some amazing camera shots here and when out of season very relaxing and enjoyable walk.
We got there and the first problem had already started, I got my camera out which I had charged all night long to make sure the battery was fully charged and then when I came to turn it on DISASTER! The battery was dead and when I looked the power switch was set to on, when putting the camera in it’s bag I must have turned the camera on by accident. 
#fail I couldn’t believe it. I ended up taking photos on my iPhone again and the gallery can be found here:

Next time I will be better prepared with the camera and will be taking multiple batteries!

Valentines day is causing me some grief
So love is in the air and Valentines day is coming up and coming quickly. I don’t agree with it all as I just see it as a time where companies / hotels and card companies can charge over the odds for weekends away and just to rake in the cash, but it doesn’ matter what I think at all, it’s here, it’s part of our lives and it’s here to stay. So no point in complaining about it and join in with the love.
This year I want to make it extremely special for my wife who has been having a hard time lately and I haven’t helped, she has enough worry and stress of her own and she has also been taking mine on too over the hard months.
I have been looking around for about 5 hours last night and 2 hours this morning for different things for the 14th feb.
So far I have looked at:
- Paris for a couple of nights
- Centre Parcs for 3 nights
- Trip to London and staying in the Dorchester, traveling down 1st class with all the trimmings
- A few nights in the lake district taking the dogs and some walking to be done
- Spa Day for her and her mum one weekend
- Romantic meal for 2 (although I can’t cook right well as she found out on her birthday)
It’s really causing me some grief as I can’t seem to find the perfect treat for her, I really want to spoil her and show her how much I love her and give her a few days that she wouldn’t ever forget!
I think I have finally decided on a few things that I am going to do but obviously I cant post on here! It’s mind boggling and I used to be really good at all this sort of stuff but seem to have lost my touch!

Just a little bit of fun
Right as part of the deal today, I got awarded £20 rather than just blowing it on anything and something that I probably wont use again I am going to use it for something fun. I have just come up with a little game for myself where I am to attempt to buy as much stuff as possible off eBay for no more than £20 and that includes all postage.
My aim is to get at least 10 items, not they all have to be something I will use, I can’t just go and buy any old tat, well some of the old tat may be tat to you but not me!
I will then put them all on eBay myself and see if I can make a profit! Yes this time next year I will be a millionaire!
Finally a theme I love
It’s been a long time coming and I have spent of hours searching the internet for the perfect wordpress theme, I would have ideally liked my own original creating that was exactly how I wanted it but me being a typical “Tight Northerner” didn’t want to fork any money out for the work doing.
I have now set my heart on the theme that is currently in use and wont be changing it for a very long time, the only thing that will be changing will be the “rhodzy.com” logo at the top of the page, this may change quite a few times because as usual I don’t want to pay for someone to create me one, although I say that, but I may do in the future, I would love a logo that I could have printed on a Tshirt and even something I could call mine and place on my wall haha (geeeeeek)
My weekend challenge…
Me and @eckafatcat have set ourselves a challenge for this weekend as part of my 3 peaks challenge training.
We are going to go and walk up Pen y Ghent in the Yorkshire Dales, its part of the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge but I shall only be doing the one this weekend!
The length of the route is around 5km and should be a piece of cake compared to the Pen y Fan one which I recently did.
Photos to come, bought myself a new camera just for the challenge so I can take some decent photos rather than using my crappy iPhone camera!

I suddenly had this thought while driving…
Just got back from driving and I suddenly had this thought which took me back to being a child. Now I’m not too sure why I thought this but it just kinda popped into my head and thought I best blog about it before I forget about for another 6 or 7 years.
It may just be me but can you remember when you were small and you used to go to loads of your mates houses? I can and one thing that came to my mind today is the different smell that you get in different houses.
I can remember the smell in our house, it smelt homely, I can remember the smell in my cousins house, which was different to home, I can remember the smell in my mates house which was different to my home and I can also remember the smell in my other mates house which just smelt dirty.
Strange thought and not sure why I suddenly thought about it but do any of you guys remember things like this?
I can’t say that I notice it now I am older, everything just smells the same, maybe it was me just being a weird child? Or maybe I just have the nose of a dog?
