HOWTO: Jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2
So I got home, logged onto twitter and found out the iPad2 and 4S jailbreak untethered had been released.
Real simple to do, download Absinthe from http://cache.greenpois0n.com/dl/absinthe-mac-0.1.2-1.zip
- Launch on your Mac
- Disable Passcode Lock
- Hit Jailbreak
- Wait a few moments
- Launch the Absinthe logo on the iPhone
- Your phone will look as though its restoring
- When back up there is Cydia
Enjoy your jailbroken A5 devices!
Update: If your phone doesn’t look as though it is doing anything when the Absinthe logo is launched on your device. Simply do a reboot
Update2: It looks as though greenpois0n.com is having problems at the moment, you may be getting “Error Establishing Database Connection” when you try and launch the Absinthe application on your iPhone 4S or iPad2.
iPhone 4S speaker problems
So today I noticed a problem with my new 4S speaker. I downloaded the 12 days of christmas application and also continued to download the top gear episodes that were todays gift.
When I started playing the video it sounded a little strange, I covered up the right speaker and you could tell something was in the way of the speaker. I then continued to cover up the left speaker and there was no change.
It appears the left hand speaker in my iPhone is not working, I have tried all the usual restoring firmware etc but still had no effect. I made my appointment at the Apple store tomorrow to see if they will swap it out. If they don’t have any in stock I may return the phone and stick with my iPhone 4, but that is another blog post as to why I may just do that.
I will update this post tomorrow when I get back from the Apple store.
So I decided to cancel my appointment at the Apple store. Reason being from a reply on the comments made me look for something so simple. However looking at the iPhone 4 specs this seems to be the same. I will check on my iPhone 4 to see if the issue is the same and if it is, I won’t do anything and just put it down to a stupid moment I was having. If it doesn’t it is def going back to Apple to check.
How to Sync shared #Google #Calendars on #iPhone
I have just made the switch back to iPhone from Android and one of the features I loved was being able to view shared calendars that I had on Google. This made it very easy for me and my Girlfriend to see what each other was up to and made it easier to see when we were free or what we had planned.
However since coming back to iOS today, the shared calendars didn’t seem to be syncing, I could only see my own.
After quick investigation it turned out that I only had to do the following:
Setup my Gmail account as Exchange mode on the phone.
Navigate to https://m.google.com/sync and choose all the calendars that I wanted to sync with my iOS device.
(In my case I had quite a lot of iPhone listings due to the amount I have had. Simply choose the one that is the latest sync… most probably today’s date)
How they are syncing fine. I can see all my shared Google Calendars on my Calendar.app.
iPhone 3GS 4.0 Jailbroken!
Well what a morning, after going to sleep last night I had no idea what today would have in store with me. I found myself checking my tweets when I got into work with a mention from @SirTrott asking if I had jailbroken my iPhone yet. This was fantastic to my eyes and straight away I thought damn, I’m at work with no access to iTunes and cannot do it until I get home.
Then a quick search on the internet and found out that you no longer need to do it on a PC/MAC. If you simply browse to http://jailbreakme.com it does it all for you on your iDevice!
After numerous attempts to do it this morning I finally gave up and decided to try the http://modmyi.com mirror which seems much quicker and can be found http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com
I now have my iPhone 3GS jailbroken and cydia is once again on my home screen. This is fantastic new and have been waiting for this for some time now.
Easy peasy for you to do.
Browse to http://jailbreakme.com or http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com
slide the slider bar
wait a few minutes
bingo your done! enjoy your new jailbroken device.
The jailbreak works for the following:

Ok then here we go.
Launch iquarium and feed your fish

You can carry this out as many times as you wish, but always make sure you feed your fish, otherwise it will die and you will lose all your points and have to start again.

Twilight fever.
Something that never really interested me up until now, but over the past weekend I found myself buying “twilight” and “new moon” in HD. So this weekend all I can say is I have gone from knowing absolutely nothing about the twilight saga to becoming a fan and yes of course I am “Team Edward”
I shall also be buying “eclipse” when it is released on blu ray.
