How strange, same thought last year
I have just been looking through my blog posts for december 2007 where I found this post
It’s really got me thinking because I was only thinking that I cannot get into the christmas spirit this year either, this year is not something to do with moving house but something a little more serious and will be very glad when it’s over. It’s kind of taking over my mind this year and I guess it will till the end of the year, just be glad when it’s all over.
Christmas is over over rated and just an excuse to spend lots and lots of money and buy people presents that they don’t even want.
Bah humbug – really starting to think am turning into the Grinch.

Xbox 360 is now alive!

Some time ago (around a year ago I think if not longer) I was playing on my Xbox 360 on Gears of War 2 when bang! I had the dreaded RROD (Red ring of death) which is basically three red lights and then you cannot use your xbox again until you get it repaired.
I didnt bother to get it fixed, well I did that is a lie, I did the towel trick which is basically wrapping the xbox up in a towel and leave it powered on for around 20 minutes to over heat. Remove the towel and try booting and it worked for me, well I say it worked, it worked for around 10 minutes before I got the three red lights again.
I just gave in and threw it under the stairs and didn’t think anything else of it.
Monday I decided I was going to fix it, so I took it to bits cleaned the thermal paste from the processor and heat sinks, applied new paste, removed the xclamps and put in screws, built back up and YES! It works, we are not back up and running. Just a shame I have been banned from xbox live.
I am getting a new xbox 360 on friday from my brother and will be playing on live with that one.
The Worse Weather I have Ever Drove In
I just got back from Birmingham at around 9oclock, a journey which usually takes me around 1hr 45mins on a good day and that is battling my way through all the 50MPH zones on the M1.
The journey took me just over 3 hours!! The weather was horrendous, continuous rain, heavy rain, slow rain, fine rain, rain that you can’t see 1 meter in front of you TERRIBLE!
The motorways were completely drenched and covered in water, cars and wagons throwing water up into the air so it hits your windscreens, water been thrown from the other side of the motorway from the oncoming traffic.
I think I got above 50MPH for around 20 miles but then soon came back down because of the weather. At one point I was actually thinking it was getting too bad maybe I should pull over wait for it to stop, but it’s a good job I didn’t I would still be sat there now waiting for it to stop. Luckily I missed the high winds that started just after I got off the M1.
You got the same old knob head that you would on a dry day whizzing past you at around 90/100 MPH and I couldn’t help myself thinking that if you were to slide and crash and lost control you would be getting exactly what you deserve, especially in that weather where you couldn’t even see the car in front, nor could you even see through your windscreen because there was that much water about.
I had one prick shooting up my chuff then started flashing me when I wouldn’t move, this is the point I was up to 70MPH and I simply refused to move as I didn’t want to be stuck behind a lorry nor did I want him to get past, I was ranting a raving and in the end I simply moved over after around 1.5 miles where he pulled behind me and got off the motorway! Success! Least I managed to slow one person down and probably fuck him off in the process!
Travelling back down tomorrow, I hope it’s much better weather tomorrow and also hope it doesn’t take me as long either.
Social Networking Meltdown!
I’m feeling in a little bit of a meltdown today when it comes to social networking and i’m not sure what to do.
Do I like social networking?
Yes
Do I like making new friends online?
Yes
Do I like facebook?
It’s alright
Do I like twitter?
Yes
Do I like MySpace?
No
Do I spend many hours on social networking sites?
Yes
Could my time be used better elsewhere?
Yes, definitely
Have I ever deleted an account and signed back up?
Yes facebook, reinstated it though
Now the QA session is out the way i’ll explain why I am feeling like this, I was walking the dogs in the rain on Wednesday last week, the rain bouncing off the hood of my coat and the dogs loving every minute of it. I started to think to myself this is the life and one that I like better than living in “a bubble” and not doing anything.
I work on computers all day and find myself as soon as I get home getting out my Macbook and sitting on it all night finding little bits of pieces to do, talking on social networking sites and basically just wasting time in things that are never really going to get me anywhere.
I am going to change my life around with my new years resolution, but the only difference is I wont be changing it around on the 1st Jan 2010. I will be changing it from now.
List of things I need to do:
❑ Fix my bike
❑ Get fit
❑ Train for the three peaks challenge
❑ Sell my iPhone
❑ Deactivate my facebook account
❑ Delete my twitter account
❑ Delete all of the blogs / website that I was trying to make work and scrap them all
Those are just a few of the things I need to get done. Not in that order but I need to do them.
I already have one ticked off the list I did this earlier this afternoon.

I deactivated my facebook account, I just need to stay strong and make sure it stays that way.
I also looked into deactivating my twitter account, this cannot be done, only deleted and gone forever, this would be a big step losing everything, all the tweets, all the replies, all the messages, all the followers and all the people I follow.
I managed to get this far, but will I ever have the man hood to click “Okay, fine, delete my account” button

I need a total lifestyle change and while all these things are currently in my life I know it wont happen, I’m weak, I can’t just tweet a little, I have to tweet a lot.
So like twitter says:
Is this goodbye from rhodzy?
So….I’ve had a very productive Sunday
What have I done today?
❑ I woke up at around 8:30am
❑ Walked the dogs
❑ Changed cat litter
❑ Quick Hoover
❑ Loaded Dish Washer
❑ Made a bacon sarni
❑ Surfed the net
❑ Watched Halloween Movies 1 – 8
❑ Surfed the new some more
The end
