Reverse Scrolling Windows XP

OS X Lion (Home) + Windows XP (Work)

Well since upgrading to OSX Lion at home, I wasn’t too fond on the reverse scrolling, but after using it for a while, I actually love it! The only problem is now when I come to use my Windows machine at work, I find it incredibly annoying that I don’t have reverse scrolling and there is no option anywhere on the system.

Then a quick search on Google fetched up the following site… http://rzy.me/19s

It works like a treat and now I have reverse scrolling on my Windows machine. No more getting frustrated with scrolling!

Quickly add images into your Gallery2 album

picture-11Up until recently I have been going about adding photos to my online Gallery the long LONG slow SLOW way.

I had been logging into the back end and choosing to upload files, which I thought was pretty good up until I had say 50 Photos to upload at once, then it seemed like too much hard work.

Gallery Remote is an application that will connect to your Gallery2 installation and makes it quick and easy to upload photos, create albums, delete albums, edit filenames etc overall making it easy to manage your Gallery.  Gallery Remote is avaliable for Mac OSX, Windows and others.

Mac OSX
Windows
Linux
Solaris
Other Unix
Other Java

Since Gallery Remote is a Java application, it requires you to have a Java Virtual Machine version 1.4 or later installed on your system.

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM ID 867 *
ENJOY!

Airport Extreme & 1TB Drive Issues

I have just installed my Airport Extreme GB router and attahced a 1TB external HDD via the USB port.

Currently having issues where the drive is showing some files on my MAC and the same files on my WINXP laptop. If i plug the USB HDD in to my MAC I can see all the files, and the same with the WINXP laptop. Causing head aches as it is really annoying, I have checked to see all the daft things first like are the files hidden, rebooted the drive and the router but still no luck :(

I will post an update when I have figured out the problem.

winpwn is released!

It can be downloaded from here

“winpwn quote”

Winpwn

Winpwn is written in C# and C. The UI is done in C# and provides a wrapper for QEMU, which boots a stripped down Linux kernel and uses initramfs to store all the utils in memory.

Ipwner

When you click Ipwner, QEMU is started and iBoot is extracted from the IPSW file and passed to QEMU as a disk drive. A binary structure is passed and as well as a copy of the ramdisk that will boot and pwn your device. Once QEMU starts it loads the winpwn binary using initramfs and reads the binary structure for instructions on what to do. It then mounts the ramdisk and patches iBoot. Once this is done, it reboots and winpwn will boot the ramdisk.

IPSW Builder

By far the most complex (and pain in my ass part) is the IPSW builder. To understand why you first need to know that the file system format that Apple uses isn’t compatible with Windows. This is the main reason i used QEMU for the initial release (it will be replaced later on with real HFS support). Once a user has selected the apps they want and to unlock, QEMU is booted. This time QEMU is given the IPSW file, binary structure, a blank ext2 file system for storage. Once winpwn is launched it reads the binary structure and starts to patch the ipsw files depending on the options selected by the user.

Messages are passed to winpwn from QEMU via a serial connection. This enables me to update the process bar and also allows for messages about what’s happening inside the QEMU process.

I will post more detailed information about the process in the next few days. This will be released under GPL as soon as the final version has been released.”

iBuilder for Windows

iBuilder is a great new Windows application that allows you to choose from an expansive list of apps, sources, and other packages and create Pwnage-compatible package that can then be used to build custom firmware for your iPhone. Rotem25 is the mastermind behind this masterpiece.

After creating the package through iBuilder, you can add it to your internalPackages in Pwnage, create a custom firmware, and install it through iTunes on your pwned iPhone with all the apps, sources, and other packages you want.

You can download from here
