Well as the title explains, I have been testing out the apps on the BlackBerry for some time now and I haven’t really found any issues or some things I can’t do. Yeah there is quite a few apps missing such as Sky News and Sickipedia but the main ones I use are still avaliable.

However…. the one problem I have found with facebook for BlackBerry is the no ability to upkload videos from the app. I have searched the web and cannot believe that such a simple feature is not implemented. Maybe in a future upgrade eh facebook?

So, today was any normal day, but I finally did something that has been bugging me for quite some time. I bought myself a new gadget. I am not going to reveal what gadget I have purchased yet, but for those of you who really know me will already have a good idea at what it could be.

I have been wanting one for ages and nothing could really help me understand as to why I wanted it, I don’t exactly need it, I don’t think I will like it, but I still bought it anyways? Call me crazy, mad, an idiot, a money waster but I just had to get it.

I will be getting it delivered later on next week and I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on it.

I have to say also, it was a bargain!

I had a task to do at the office the other day of getting Asset information, I got the companies asset details no problem, but when it came to getting the serial number… well I forgot, not a very good start to see the least to say I had to travel 270 miles to the office.

I had a quick search on the net and finally came across this script:

ComputerName = InputBox(“Machine Name To Query”)

winmgmt1 = “winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!//”& ComputerName &”"
Set SerialN = GetObject( winmgmt1 ).InstancesOf (“Win32_BIOS”)

For each Serial in SerialN
MsgBox “Serial Number: ” & Serial.SerialNumber
Next

How to use:

1) Fire up Notepad
2) Paste the above into it
3) Save the file with the extension .VBS
4) Double click
5) Enter the remote computer name
6) Voila the serial number will appear

Something so simple, saved me a lot of time / miles and fuel!
Hope it helps for you!

I’ve never wanted to speak to vodafone as much in my life as I want to now, I need their phone lines to open so I can ring up and activate my micro sim for my iPad, still not sure what tariff am going to go on but still I just want to use the Internet where ever I am and I need to use it right now where I don’t currently have the Internet.

The phone lines open at 8am and I reckon I will be the first caller of the day. I’m starting to love this ipad more and more each day, finally getting used to using it and where I need to lay it down to use the keyboard so I can write blog posts like I am now!!

UPDATE: it’s now 8:30am and the vodafone iPad activation sim line is still not open, apparently they open at 8am Monday to Friday, and yet still at 8:30 they still aint open and the message still says open at 8am. Shocking.

UPDATE 2: iPad in now activated, I opted for the £10 a month which gives me 1gb data allowance

Change the Login Screen Wallpaper Image in Snow Leopard 10.6 (also works for Leopard 10.5)

Launch the terminal and issue the following commands:

    * cd /System/Library/CoreServices
* sudo mv DefaultDesktop.jpg DefaultDesktop_org.jpg
* sudo cp /path/of/image.jpg DefaultDesktop.jpg

Of course, change /path/of/image.jpg to the path of the image file you want to use. Basically what you’re doing here is moving to a folder, backing up the old “DefaultDesktop.jpg” by renaming it, and then copying in the new image and naming it “DefaultDesktop.jpg” instead.

Edit: Don’t pay for apps that do this for you, the method above works great and it’s totally free, If you are like me you will change your desktop wallpaper quite frequently and also you can now change the boring login window within OS X : ) enjoy!

Last night I checked my Gmail account like I do every couple of hours and noticed an email from the Google Wave team, I have been using Google Wave for around a month now so wondered what it was and why I was sent it.

I checked out the email which was an invite to use the service….hmm ok I am already on it and have been for some time so why am I receiving this invite?

I just ignored it and went to sleep, this morning I got speaking to a friend on wave who said he has been given 20 invites for Google Wave to nominate his friends to use, why haven’t I got any I thought.

After a little chat I told him I had received an official invite from Google in my inbox and not sure why I got it, I think it may be I registered to be in the preview mode when it was launched, this is where it got interesting. He said he had got the exact same email and clicked the link, the next thing he knew was in his wave inbox he had 20 invites to send out!

I tried this and what do you know, I had a wave in my inbox saying I got nominate 20 friends to start using Google Wave! Yeeah!

Now I can finally get some friends on Wave.

I have already invited 3 who I know are interested so this is how many I have left!

If you are already on wave and get an email from Google Wave, make sure you click the link, it just may give you some invites in your inbox to send out!

Also noticed a few extra options on the home screen relating to the twitter lists:

This image also shows you the list of your Lists that have been created!

Get’s me wondering what other plans twitter has to make it better! I definitely didn’t see Twitter Lists coming!
