SabNZB+ Problems after router change

Grrr bloody computers…..

The Problem

Grrr who would have thought that this little icon could cause me so much grief. I recently changed my home router, from the BE broadband standard one to my existing sky router that was stuffed in a box, why? Because i can hack this router to f*£k and get lots of great features that i havent been able to get with my old router. With this change I changed my IP range to something completely different, i kept all the settings the same like the WPA codes etc and all the forwarded ports, but with the IP range it messed my SabNZB+ config file up. IT WONT CONNECT ANYMORE! :-( but me being me didnt let it die :) I plodded on until I fixed it. I tried the obvious remove the app and install again but still wouldnt connect to the webserver. Then came the hard part, where the hell does it store the config file on Mac OS X Leopard??

The Solution Follow these east steps.

  • Open Finder
  • On the menu bar click on GO
  • Scroll down to the option “Go to Folder”
  • Now you will have a pop up window asking for a name
  • Type the following ~.sabnzbd
  • This will take you to where the folder is, the reason we have to search is that it is a hidden folder and wont show up in finder unless searched for.
  • Enter the folder and you will see the *.ini file
  • Open this in your Text Editor
  • Scroll down until you find the IP address before the change, and edit this with your new IP address.
  • Save the document
  • Run SabNZB+
  • Browse to the http://HOSTNAME:8080/sabnzbd
  • BINGO! No more issues.

Please note that SabNZBD must not be running while making this change. You will probably get an access denied, or trying to edit a protected file error.
