Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, and handled by the balanc mobile application (the "App").

1. Data We Do Not Collect

We believe your data is your own. The balanc app is designed to be a private, personal tool. We do not collect, store, or have access to any of your personal health data.

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not use any third-party analytics services.
  • All data you enter into the app, or that is synced from Apple Health, is stored exclusively on your device and, if you choose, in your private iCloud account for backup and syncing between your devices. We have no access to this data.

2. Apple HealthKit Integration

Our app integrates with Apple's HealthKit framework to provide a seamless health tracking experience.

  • Data We Read from HealthKit: With your explicit permission, the App can read the following data from your HealthKit store to display it within the App:
    • Blood Glucose
    • Body Mass (Weight)
    • Insulin Delivery
    • Workouts
  • How We Use HealthKit Data: This data is used solely to populate the App's logbook and insights features on your device. The data is read from HealthKit and processed locally on your phone. We do not transmit this data to any external servers.
  • Data We Do Not Write to HealthKit: Currently, the balanc app only reads data from HealthKit. It does not write or save any new health data to your HealthKit store.

You can control the App's access to your HealthKit data at any time by going to the Settings app > Health > Data Access & Devices > balanc.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All information you log manually within the App is stored in a private database on your device. This includes:

  • Fasting logs
  • Glucose, ketone, weight, workout, and insulin entries
  • Application settings, such as your preferred units and fasting plans

4. iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled for the App, your data will be securely and privately synced across your personal Apple devices. This process is managed entirely by Apple's iCloud service, and we do not have access to the data stored in your iCloud account.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
